Joe Porcelli

You gotta love the outfits in this spread. Jock straps with knee socks, headbands and leather hot pants. When is that look coming back? Plus he works that pouty little handle bar moustache "I'm thinking deep thoughts" look. The type makes me a little sad however. If its not complete fiction--which it may well be--it's practically foreshadowing that Joe ends up dead. If your too lazy too read it, he basically talks about being a swinger in 1979 gay New York, and we all know what happened a few years later. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic though...in researching this post I found that he did a spread for Men in 1987, so hopefully Joe is alive and well today. Anyone know?

Josh Kincaid

Like my last post, I was not intimately familiar with Josh Kincaid before I saw this spread. After all, it came out when I was second grade. Not that that means I couldn't have seen it. You see I grew up in Greenwich Village in NYC, and my elementary school was right off Christopher Street on Hudson which was the epicenter of gay culture at the time (it's one of several epicenters these days). Its entirely possible I skipped by a gay news stand as a 7 year old when this issue was new. However, I was not one of those gays that "always knew". If presented with Honcho at the time I probably would have blushed and cried. But I do vaguely remember Torso and Honcho being at news stands next to Time and Newsweek. Its no wonder I turned into an affront to God.

Getting back on track, despite my lack of familiarity with Josh Kincaid, I was drawn to this cover primarily for its oh-so-80's color palate. Its like the tint on the TV was turned up too high. I love the effect... I really hope the pool wasn't really that green. Too bad the whole spread isn't in color. But I'm not even sure I had a color TV back then so it fits somehow. The last shot is not Josh Kincaid but another nameless blonde beardie from the same issue. I have no idea who he is.

Guy McCoy

Unlike many of the men I obsessively drone one about here, I have only just made Guy McCoy's acquaintance. I encountered him not long ago in an old tattered Honcho I was flipping through from 1980, then again in an old Mandate from the same era. Although I can hardly claim him as a personal find--he was a Colt model after all--he is not even listed in the Smut Junkies directory, which I find odd for a model of his caliber. He's not quite as big as most Colt guys, but he has that Colt ass alright, plus a nice 70's mutton chop thing and a really cute grin. There are a few versions of many of these pics: the dog earred scans from mags and the cleaned up version I found on the net

Hot House Boys

Now that we're halfway through this year I thought I'd start unloading my 2010 calendars. Hot House never disappoints. I believe the stills are from Woodwork, Head Hunters, Trunks 4 or 5, Locker Room, Paging Dr. Finger, and Verboten. I think Paul Wagner's photo is from a Backroom scene or just a publicity shoot, because I'd remember a foot ball themed movie with him in it. In fact I think I may have dreamed it.
